Your licence: to use, not to sell

TifTif gives the business named in your quote a licence to use the TifTif platform — customer app, rider app, admin panel and super admin — to run that business, under its own brand, in its own accounts.

The licence is for use only. It is personal to your business: it does not give you the right to sell, resell or pass on the platform, and it does not transfer ownership of the software. TifTif keeps all rights in the platform that are not expressly given to you here.

What you can do

  • Run the platform for your own tiffin or meal business, under your own brand and domain
  • Publish the customer and rider apps under your own Google Play (and, where included, Apple) developer accounts
  • Give access to your own staff, riders and kitchen team, and let your customers order through your apps
  • Use it for the kitchen locations and delivery areas covered by your quote
  • Keep using it after your support period ends — the licence has no expiry date

What you cannot do

Unless TifTif agrees in writing, the licence does not allow you to:

  • Sell or resell the platform, the apps or any copy of them, to anyone
  • Rent, lease, lend or sublicense the platform, or charge others for access to it
  • Set it up for another business — for example as an agency, consultant or franchisor running it for others under their brand — or rebrand it for anyone else
  • Share it with another business, or give another business access to your installation
  • Copy or reuse the source code, apps or database design to build, sell or publish another product
  • Publish or distribute the code, or remove TifTif's copyright and licence notices from it

Another brand or a separate business needs its own licence. Ask us — we will quote for it.

If you sell your business

If you sell the whole tiffin or meal business, the licence can move to the new owner with our written agreement, which we will not refuse without a good reason. After the transfer, you stop using the platform. The licence cannot be sold on its own, separately from the business.

Reselling TifTif

Only authorised TifTif partners may offer TifTif to other businesses, and only under a separate agreement signed with us. Every business they bring receives its own licence from TifTif. If you would like to resell, see our partner programme.

How we protect the platform

We set up every TifTif installation ourselves, so we keep a record of each licensed business, its domains, its app package names and the accounts it runs in. To protect our clients and our software, we also:

  • May place licence marks in the code and apps of each installation, so that any copy can be traced to the licence it came from
  • Check the app stores and the web for apps and sites built on TifTif that are not on our licence record
  • May ask you, no more than once a year — or at any time if we have evidence of misuse — to confirm in writing where the platform is running and to give us reasonable read-only access to check
  • Act on reports from partners, clients and the public

To report suspected misuse, email hello@tiftif.co.in with the subject "Licence misuse". We keep the name of the person reporting confidential.

If the licence is broken

If we find the platform resold, shared, copied or set up for another business without our written agreement, we will tell you in writing. Within 14 days you must:

  • Stop the unlicensed use, and have every unlicensed copy taken down and deleted
  • Tell us in writing who received the platform, and when
  • Pay the unlicensed-use fee below for each business that received it

The unlicensed-use fee

For each business that received or used the platform without a licence, the fee is three times our list price for the region where that business operates, at the time we find the misuse — or the amount you were paid for it, if that is higher. At today's prices that is $14,997 for a business in the international region (the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and similar markets), $4,497 in the rest of Asia, Africa and Latin America, and ₹2,69,997 + GST in India. You also pay our reasonable legal and collection costs.

Both sides agree this fee is a fair estimate of the licence fees lost and the cost of finding and stopping the misuse, not a penalty. Paying it does not license the copies: every business that wants to keep using TifTif needs its own licence from us.

If it is not put right

If you do not do all of the above within 14 days, we may also end your own licence and support without a refund, ask app stores and hosting providers to remove the unlicensed copies, and take legal action for our losses and to stop further use.

Copying, selling or distributing software without permission is also copyright infringement. In India it can lead to civil claims and criminal prosecution under the Copyright Act, 1957, and most other countries have similar laws.

How this fits with our other terms

This policy is part of our terms and conditions. Your written quote and agreement set out the exact terms of your purchase; if they differ from this page, they take priority.
