Most countries require home food businesses to register before selling. In India that is FSSAI registration (from 1 April 2026, basic registration covers businesses with turnover up to ₹1.5 crore). In the UK you register with your local council at least 28 days before trading. In the United States, rules vary by state, and many states do not allow perishable meals from a home kitchen at all.
